movie label 2012 on mac x server problem

Hi,

I am trying to port movie label to mac with wineskin. I am currently having some problems with the port: the program installs fine but when I try to run it, it crashes. The log file says the following:

I asked the same question on the main wine forum where the answer was:

its a problem with the X server.

I assume looking at the log (and he libpng warning) that your actually using Wineskin... several of the engines were compiled with an older version, but the most current version WineskinX11 has a newer build, so that error is really common right now in Wineskin, but have yet to ever see it cause a problem.

If its Wineskin, you can ask for support over on the Wineskin support forum, and we can figure out why WineskinX11 isn't functioning.

If its not Wineskin, well, you need to fix your X11 installation. I'd suggest getting the latest version of XQuartz and installing it to use.

Can anybody help with this problem or does anybody know how to fix this problem?
Thanks in advance,

Jaspack

What is in the X11 log after you try to run it?  from the first couple of messages it seems like its not running right.

odd... looks like X should be running fine, its odd Wine would complain X wasn't there... I'm not sure what is going on then.

your wine log looks the same every time you try to run it?

what file system is your "DATA" drive that is running off of by the way?

The DATA drive is formatted as Mac OS Extended (Journaled)

I tried to run the application from the OS partition and looked again at the X logfile:

X11.app: DISPLAY does not look like a launchd set variable, unsetting.

So I think is is always the same error.

I don't know if it is common to do so, but do you want a copy of the application? I can send you a link of an uploaded version if you want.

Thanks

There is nothing showing wrong in the log file there.. its as expected, but I don't know how it can be launching correctly, yet your Wine log starts with "Application tried to create a window, but no driver could be loaded. Make sure that your X server is running and that $DISPLAY is set correctly."  That makes no sense what-so-ever.

Can you run other things in the wrapper, like just regedit or winecfg on their own buttons in Advanced->Tools tab?

I tried running Movie Lable 2012 trial.. using a Wineskin 2.5.4beta1 wrapper and WS8Wine1.3.37 but its having issues.  My log file doesn't have any of the X errors you do, but it still looks like its going to take a lot of work to get it running right (mainly the err:seh:setup_exception_record stack overflow error thats in mine and yours).  I noticed there is no entry for this program on the AppDB, or the Crossover Database, so not sure anyone has even looked at it before.

Thanks for all your efforts so far!

I tried to run the other things from the wrapper and they run without any problems. I assume that there doesn't exist a simple fix for the setup_exception_record stack problem?
