Wineskin 2.5.7 Released

Published by doh123 on 2012-09-17

I had a couple bug reports from Beta1 that were fixed in Beta2, but being Beta2 has been out a while with no verifiable bug reports, and it seems to have been running great, so I went ahead and released it.  Download in the normal locations... mainly in Wineskin Winery.

List of changes in Wineskin 2.5.7 from 2.5.6

  • WineskinX11 overhauled, and all code changes from standard XQuartz builds re-evaluated and updated.  Built with updated packages, including xorg-server 1.13.0, Mesa 8.0.4, and freeglut 2.8.0.
  • Added some efficiency to how the Wineskin daemon runs (code clean up)
  • Made a few Wineskin temp files that were still inside the wrapper use the /tmp folder instead.
  • Extra Gamma correction has a wider range and no more tick marks on the slider.
  • Winetricks should be able to update again, but its already updated to the latest available
  • Cmd+Opt+A toggle back to fullscreen no longer crashes on Mountain Lion
  • Cmd+Enter option added that works identical to Cmd+Opt+A
  • Cmd+Tab will knock you out of fullscreen like Cmd+Opt+A and Cmd+Enter, but it will not put you back into fullscreen, it will work normally for changing apps. You can use Cmd+Opt+A, or Cmd+Enter to get back to fullscreen if you got out by using Cmd+Tab.
  • Wrappers don't hard set your max open files to 10,000 anymore by default.
  • There is an option in Wineskin.app to set your Max Open Files to 10240, which is the maximum OS X seems to allow for a setting.  This is a system wide setting that cannot be un-done without rebooting.  Its best to leave it off unless you have specific problems with programs not having enough open files available.
  • Test Run and making logs will no longer screw up if you are using Override->Fullscreen.
  • System info in X11 logs should no longer occasionally be partially over-written
  • Codesigned the manual installer package so Gatekeeper won't complain about it
