When I set a EXE that has an & or other symbol characters, the wrapper fails! Back to FAQ

Don’t do it....

I’m looking into fixes for this, but it has several problems.  The way things are launched, the normal command line usage of Wine has & and other symbols reserved.  I can have it edit on the fly the line so those characters are ‘escaped’ and wont work as reserved characters, but the main Info.plist for the wrapper where they are stores gets messed up because it doesn’t like them in there either.  For now, just don’t use them, and rename any EXEs that use things like $ and % and & etc.....  I may have to move the Wine parts of the config out of Info.plist into its own config file to fix this problem.

If your program has the character in it, try renaming it.

Like C & C.exe ... try renaming it to C and C.exe, it will usually still work fine.
